This part of China has always been considered as a fruitful part of China. You've always seen a lot of ricefields, corn and fishing here. Other important products that where made here is potteries and handycraft from jade or pearls. Potteries has been made here since 1800 years. Mostly in the town Jingdeshen, just about 100 km northeast from Nanchang. This province is a part of the original China and where called Han. Most chinese consider themselve as Han people. Later the porcelain and potteries where taken to the southeast chinese sea where they where shipped all over the world. Like to Gothenburg Sweden. Nanchang means "the south be prosperous" and many people still use the name "South Chang". The south(or Nan)Chang, is the provincial capital of
river west province or Jiangxi. The total area for Nanchang is 7400 square kilometers, total population 4,400,000. In the city Nanchang you'll find nearly 2 million inhabitants.
